What is Wildcard?

Wildcard is an independent financial startup building a super-simple way to manage your money.

Is Wildcard safe?

Wildcard has an Australian Financial Services Licence (503801), and your money is held at a major Australian bank. Our cards are issued by EML Payments, a global payments company that processes billions in payments annually.

How does Wildcard work?

Whenever you get paid or transfer money into Wildcard, it goes into your Pay Account first.

Next, you can set aside some money for bills and savings. You can even choose a friend to stop you from taking money out of your savings account.

Finally, tell us when you next get paid, and we'll slowly give you a portion of your remaining cash every day, so it lasts until your next pay day.

Wildcard is a full transaction account - you can transfer money to any Australian bank account, pay bills, withdraw money from ATMs, and make purchases online, overseas and with Apple Pay and Google Pay.

How does Wildcard make money?

We earn a rebate from our card issuer based on the amount of money across all our accounts. That means that unlike a bank that makes money when you get into debt, we make money when you save money. It’s win-win.

How do I activate my Wildcard?

To activate your physical card, tap on your profile button in the app, then follow the steps to set your PIN and enter your card's 6 letter security key.

The first time you use your card in-store, you'll need to insert it and select Credit. After that, you'll be able to tap and pay using PayPass.

How long does it take to transfer money in and out of Wildcard?

You can make instant transfers into Wildcard from another bank account using your "wildcard.me" PayID. If you're making a regular bank transfer in or out of Wildcard using a BSB and Account number, it will take about a business day for the money to arrive, depending on your bank.

How can I add my bills to Wildcard?

Create an Expenses Account on the accounts screen, then tap "Add expenses". From there you'll be able to add recurring payments like Netflix and Spotify to Wildcard. If you can't see your biller listed, just google their payments page and update your card details.

Our expenses feature is only available for iOS users at the moment, but will be added to the Android app soon.

When I buy something, which account will the money come out of?

Most card purchases will come out of your Spending Account by default. If you add any bills to Wildcard, or set up a recurring transfer, they’ll come out of your Expenses Account instead. If you tap on a transaction, you can change which account it comes out of.

How do I cancel my Wildcard?

If you'd like to cancel your account, just contact us via the app or email. We don't charge any cancellation fees, and you can cancel at any time.

How do I contact Wildcard?

You can contact Wildcard by tapping on your profile button in the app then "Talk to Us", or send us an email.

If you want more information, everything’s in our Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide. If you decide Wildcard isn’t for you, message us and we’ll close your account. No hard feelings.
